Continuous Professional Development

All members are required to carry out a specified number of hours of CPD in each accreditation year in order to keep you up to date with the latest conventions and guidance. Continuous professional development will encapsulate any changes in software where applicable and scheme changes that affect the provision of Energy Reports.

Every accredited energy assessor is required to complete at least 10 hours learning per annum for a primary strand plus 5 hours per additional accredited strand. All CPD shall have a relevance to the members’ accreditation Strand. Where the relevance is not obvious please ensure that the entry clearly describes the relevance of the training. At least 50% hours of the total CPD requirement shall be in the form of ‘Structured Training’ in a formal training environment (not self certified)

Retrofit Assessors are required to complete an additional 10 hours CPD and Retrofit Coordinators 25 Hours CPD. As an example a DEA who is also a Retrofit Assessor would need to complete 20 hours CPD.

It is necessary that you complete the required level of continuous learning throughout the year as failure to do so will result in a disciplinary matter, which would ultimately lead to suspension. As part of our internal audit procedures we will contact you from time to time to discuss your current CPD program. If you require support developing and maintaining your plan please do not hesitate to contact us on 0161 727 4303 or email info@sterlingaccreditation.com
